For me, nutrition is the hardest part to manage for anti-aging.
It’s also the most difficult yet crucial part of fat loss. Personally, working out is much easier for me to do every day, anywhere, anytime.
So, “You are what you eat” could be “Your age is defined by what you eat” for me.
We need protein, fat, and fiber as the three main pillars of our daily food consumption, and came up with 5 color categories for those foods I like and easy to access in terms of availability and money.
Here I am introducing you to my palette of affordable, anti-aging foods that not only make you look younger but also help you save those hard-earned dollars.
White: Lean Protein
When it comes to anti-aging, study shows protein plays a crucial role in maintaining muscle mass, skin elasticity, and overall vitality. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9500585/
Enter the color white, symbolizing lean protein sources that won’t break the bank.
Chicken breast, a dietary staple, is a low-fat, high-protein option that supports muscle health and collagen production.
Eggs, nature’s perfect protein package, offer essential amino acids and nutrients vital for skin rejuvenation.
White is not limited to chicken/fish or eggs, for a dairy boost, Greek yogurt completes the white ensemble, providing protein along with probiotics for gut health.
I especially love my Greek yogurt mix with sesame powder and berries, the king dessert for anti-aging!
Black: Good Fat and Antioxidants
As I just mentioned at the end of “White”, let me introduce the magic powder that most Asian are familiar with—Sesame!

Black signifies the darker side of your plate – the good fats and antioxidants that combat oxidative stress and inflammation.
While avocados are a popular choice, consider the more budget-friendly alternative – black sesame seeds.
Packed with heart-healthy fats and antioxidants, black sesame seeds contribute to skin health and overall well-being.
Sprinkle them on salads, or yogurt (yum), or blend into smoothies for a dash of richness without breaking the bank.
Don’t forget dark chocolate too, dark chocolate with a high cocoa content contains flavonoids, which have antioxidant properties, perfect choice of snack.
I know non or low-sugar dark chocolate isn’t the best taste in the world, just remember moderation is key due to its calorie content.
Yellow: Banana – A Pocket-Friendly Avocado Substitute
Yellow represents the vibrant hue of bananas, a wallet-friendly alternative to avocados.
Bananas may not have the same monounsaturated fats as avocados, but they do offer essential nutrients, including potassium, vitamin C, and dietary fiber.
These components support heart health, skin elasticity, and digestion, making bananas an accessible and cost-effective option for your anti-aging journey.
Green: Green Tea and Leafy Veggies
The color green signifies vitality and health, and nothing encapsulates this better than green tea and leafy vegetables.
Green tea, rich in polyphenols, boasts antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Its benefits extend to promoting skin health and reducing the risk of chronic diseases associated with aging.
Complement your Green Department with a variety of green veggies – spinach, kale, and broccoli, to name a few.
Packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber, these greens contribute to overall well-being without straining your budget.
Blue: Blueberries – Vitamin C Powerhouse
The color blue introduces us to the tiny but mighty blueberries, representing the power of vitamin C in the anti-aging game.
These little blue gems are antioxidant-rich, protecting your skin from oxidative stress and potentially reducing the signs of aging.
Vitamin C, abundant in blueberries, promotes collagen synthesis, contributing to skin elasticity.
Blueberries are not only easy to incorporate into your diet but also gentle on your wallet, making them a smart and affordable choice for anti-aging nutrition.
Incorporating these five colors into your diet not only creates a visually appealing plate but also provides a spectrum of nutrients crucial for anti-aging.
